Invitation to August 23rd 2024 PRIEC
Dear Colleagues,
We are excited to welcome you to Columbus for PRIEC later this week! This email has some updated logistics and reminders for everyone, with additional details specifically for presenters at the bottom.
Above you will find the current agenda/schedule. Please note that we will have four sessions throughout the day. Most sessions will feature two panels taking place in two rooms adjacent to one another.
For those of you coming into town on Thursday Aug 22, please plan to join us for dinner from 6-9pm. A chartered bus will leave from the Junto Hotel at 6pm to take guests to Wolf’s Ridge and will return guests to the Junto around 9pm. Please meet in the lobby promptly at 5:50pm to load onto the bus for dinner.
For the conference on Friday Aug 23, all events will take place at the STEAM Factory which is an 8-minute (0.4 mile) walk from the Junto Hotel (please note that this is NOT on OSU’s Main campus). If you are driving, please park in the gravel lot on Lucas St. between Rich and Town. Parking is free in the gravel lot.
The entrance to the STEAM Factory is the northwest teal door with “400” painted on it. The building is locked at all times so, as a result, we will need to let you in. One of the hosts will be waiting at the outside door from 8:30-9:00 a.m. If you arrive after this time or need to leave and return at some point, you will need to text Amanda at 614-806-9372 to be let back into the building.
Our last session concludes at 4:30pm Friday Aug 23. Following this session, we will head back to the Junto Hotel’s rooftop bar, the Brass Eye, for a happy hour and light dinner from 5-7pm. Please join us before you depart!
Presenters:
- You will have 12 minutes each to present (e.g., similar to an MPSA style presentation). Once all of the presenters in your panel have finished, we will open up Q&A for all presenters.
- Papers: Please upload your papers (or, if no paper, a PDF of your presentation) to this folder no later than Wednesday, August 21 at 5pm ET. Please save your presentations with just your last name so that we can easily retrieve it as we change presenters/panels.
- Slides: Please save a PDF version of your presentation to a portable flash-drive or upload to the shared folder before arriving at the STEAM factory. Then, at the start of each panel we can quickly load slides onto the computer for each presenter.
If there’s any additional information we can provide, please do not hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you all soon!
Best wishes,
Nicole, Katie, & Amanda
