Thanks from Berkeley; 2 Fall PRIEC meetings

Hi everyone,

Thanks for making the Berkeley meeting of PRIEC so memorable, engaging, and thought-provoking. Thanks especially to Taeku and the rest of the folks at Berkeley for organizing such a well-attended and well-organized conference.

We will have a bit of a hiatus over the summer, and will continue the next academic year with a series of meetings in, and out of, Southern California.

There will be two fall meetings of PRIEC, which are usually important for graduate students entering the job market, and for other students and faculty with ongoing projects. The first meeting (Friday September 25) will be at UW-Seattle, and the second meeting (Friday November 6) will be at UC Irvine.

More details will be posted on http://priec.org as they emerge. We hope that you all will be able to make one, or both, of these meetings.

If you are interested in presenting in Seattle, please email Matt Barreto. UW will be able to defray airfare costs for graduate students who are presenting, and may have some limited funds for air travel for other graduate students. Please email Matt directly, and as soon as possible, if you are a graduate student who will need this assistance.

Louis DeSipio is the organizer of the November 6 meeting at UC Irvine. Please email Louis directly if you wish to present.

In 2010, we will meet at the Mission Inn, Riverside in late January, and at Stanford in the spring. We will also likely have an interdisciplinary meeting at UCLA in late spring.

Have a happy summer, everyone! Safe travels, and hope to see you all soon,
Karthick
