2008 Undergraduate Paper Award on Immigrant or Immigration Politics
The Politics of Race, Immigration, and Ethnicity Consortium is pleased to announce a paper competition for undergraduates in member campuses (so far, any campus in Southern California as well as Arizona State, UC Berkeley, UNM, and UW-Seattle).
The award is given to the best research paper written by an undergraduate student related to immigrant politics or the politics of immigration in the United States. The award carries a prize of $250 and is intended to encourage undergraduates to pursue graduate study in political science or related disciplines.
Submissions should be a maximum of 25 pages (double spaced) and should be submitted electronically to Karthick Ramakrishnan (karthick@ucr.edu) and Shaun Bowler (shaun.bowler@ucr.edu) by December 20, 2007. Award winners will be announced by January 1, 2008.

Please encourage your students to submit a paper on the politics of immigrants or immigration in the United States. 2008 Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research in the field of Latino Politics
The Project for Equity, Representation, and Governance and the Department of Political Science at Texas A&M University invite submissions for the 2008 Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research in the field of Latino
Politics.
The award is given to the best research paper authored by an undergraduate
student in the field of Latino Politics. The award carries a prize of $500
and is meant to encourage undergraduates to continue their study of Latino
Politics at the graduate level.
Papers for the 2008 award should be a maximum of 25 pages (double spaced,
12-point font) and should be submitted electronically (either as a PDF, MS
Word or Word Perfect document) to Kenneth J. Meier
(kmeier@politics.tamu.edu) by February 15, 2008. Please include “2008 Latino Politics Award” in the subject heading. Papers are not required to contain any form of data analysis. Self-nominations are encouraged.
